Setup

Add TubeGen to your Claude MCP servers

Takes a couple of minutes in the Claude app or Claude Code.

Create an API key

In TubeGen, open Settings → API Keys, pick the scopes and copy the key. It starts with tgk_ and is shown once.

Add it to Claude

In the Claude app, add a custom connector with the settings below. In Claude Code, run the command, then type /mcp to check TubeGen is listed.

Connect YouTube once

Connect your channel under YouTube in the app, so the assistant can upload to it.
In Claude: Customize → Connectors
→ Add custom connector

Request headers are still rolling out in Claude. If you don't see them in the dialog, use Claude Code for now. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors.

The pause matters: the voiceover, scenes and images are all timed to the script. Then one more line publishes it: “Upload it to my channel.”

Can Claude make videos?

On its own, no. Claude writes text and code. With the TubeGen MCP connected it can drive TubeGen's script, voice, image, music and render tools, and you get a finished MP4 back from TubeGen.

Can Claude create videos for YouTube?

Yes, with the TubeGen MCP. Claude can research the niche, write and voice the script, make the scenes, add music, render the MP4 and upload it to your channel.

How do I add TubeGen to the Claude app?

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and click Add custom connector. Enter https://mcp.tubegen.ai/mcp as the server URL, choose No sign-in, and add a request header named authorization with the value Bearer followed by your tgk_ key. Request headers are still rolling out in Claude, so if you don't see them, use Claude Code.

Can Claude upload to YouTube?

Yes. Connect your channel once in the TubeGen app, then Claude can upload a rendered video with its title, description and thumbnail.

Does Claude make the images?

No. TubeGen renders them with its image models in your project's art style. Claude decides what each scene needs and can redo one that doesn't look right.

How much does it cost?

The MCP costs nothing extra. You pay for your Claude plan and a TubeGen plan (from $149/mo), and each step spends TubeGen credits at the same price as in the app.

Is it safe to give Claude a TubeGen key?

The key only works on your TubeGen account. Use a Read-only key for research, set an expiry, and revoke it in Settings → API Keys any time. Claude can't touch billing, teams or security settings.
